• In November 2020, Charli and Dixie (her sister) faced huge backlash for being rude to their personal chef, Aaron May, in a video posted on their family YouTube channel. The video that featured the YouTuber and beauty guru James Charles joining the family dinner of the D’Amelio’s, showed both the sisters disliking and making expression at the food made by Aaron May, as the chef described the meal. Later in the video, Charlie expressed her wish to gain 100 million followers. After the video was posted, both the sisters received harsh criticism from the people and Charli ended up losing over a million followers on her TikTok. In an Instagram Live video later that month, she said,
